ISLAMABAD: The Deputy Governor, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), while explaining the Home Financing Framework, said that this is the first time that a common man can buy his own house by getting a loan on a monthly installment of Rs 10,000.

He said that the mark-up on this loan is also very low and the government has set aside Rs 33 billion in this regard.

He added that the middle class can get a small house or flat for 25,000 installments per month.

He said that for the first time the problems of the common man were being realized and at the same time the problems of the banks were being taken care of.

SBP Deputy Governor Seema Kamil said the condition for getting a loan is that a person is buying a house for the first time.

A person who already owns a home will not receive discounted housing finance.
